Simplifying Sign-Out: Microsoft’s Update Brings Back an Old Favourite

Microsoft recently stirred up user feedback with some changes to the Windows Start menu, especially when it came to signing out.
Here’s what happened: aiming for a more streamlined Start menu, Microsoft organized settings into grouped sections. But in doing so, they placed the sign-out option behind a three-dot menu, leaving many users hunting for a way to log out.
Good news – Microsoft took note of the feedback! They’re now testing an update that moves the sign-out button back to its familiar spot, making it much easier to log out or switch accounts.
For teams using multiple profiles on one computer, this is a welcome change, simplifying the process of switching accounts.
This adjustment is part of a broader Windows 11 update in testing that will also introduce new features, such as media controls on the lock screen (perfect for managing music or videos) and the option to share files directly from search results.
These updates show how small, thoughtful changes can make a big difference in workflow efficiency.
