Microsoft finally fixes two of the most frustrating Teams issues

There are few things more frustrating during a busy workday than a messaging app that doesn’t behave the way you expect.

For many businesses, Microsoft Teams has become the centre of daily communication. Messages, calls, meetings, file sharing - it all happens in one place.

And for the most part, it works extremely well.

But like any tool used all day, every day, even small annoyances can quickly become major frustrations. For a long time, Teams users have been asking Microsoft to fix a couple of these quirks.

Now, those requests are finally being answered.

A smarter Enter key

One of the most common complaints has been how the Enter key behaves when typing messages.

Until now, pressing Enter in Teams has automatically sent your message. That might seem logical, but it often causes problems. Many people instinctively press Enter to start a new line when writing a longer message.

The result? Half-written messages being sent accidentally.

Microsoft is now introducing an option that lets you choose what the Enter key does. Instead of automatically sending your message, you’ll be able to set Enter to create a new line.

That simple change could save a lot of awkward follow-up messages.

Forward multiple messages at once

Another improvement that Teams users have been requesting is the ability to forward several messages together.

Previously, Teams only allowed you to forward one message at a time. That made it difficult to share full conversations or provide context when passing information to colleagues.

The new update solves that.

You’ll soon be able to select up to five messages from a chat or channel and forward them in one go, making it much easier to share important information without copying and pasting multiple messages.

Small changes that make a big difference

These updates might seem minor, but they remove friction from everyday communication.

When a tool like Teams is used constantly throughout the day, even tiny improvements can save time, reduce mistakes, and make collaboration smoother.

Microsoft continues to refine Teams based on user feedback, and changes like these show that the company is listening.

If your business relies on Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365, making sure everything is configured properly can help your team work more efficiently and avoid common frustrations.
