Microsoft has issued a critical update: If you’re using Windows 11, you must upgrade to version 23H2 by 8th October 2024. After this date, older versions will no longer receive essential security updates, leaving your systems vulnerable.
Why does this matter?
Because Microsoft will cease supporting older versions of Windows 11 for business accounts, including stopping vital security updates that protect your systems against the latest cyber threats.
Upgrading to Windows 11 version 23H2 is crucial not only for enhanced security but also for other benefits. This latest version offers advanced security features to safeguard your business data. Additionally, you'll experience performance improvements, resulting in faster and more efficient systems—boosting productivity. New tools and features are also continuously added, streamlining workflows and ensuring compatibility with new software and technologies.
Delaying the update could expose your business to cyber attacks. Without security updates, your systems are at risk of potential exploits, leading to data breaches and financial losses.
While Microsoft may enforce updates after the deadline to protect users, particularly on business devices not managed by IT departments, it’s better to update proactively on your own schedule.
Updating to version 23H2 is straightforward:
First, check your current version by going to Settings > System > About.
Before updating, back up all your important files to prevent data loss.
Navigate to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
Click "Check for updates" and follow the prompts to install version 23H2.
Once the update is complete, restart your computer and verify the new version in Settings > System > About again.
Ensuring your systems are up to date will keep your business secure and running efficiently. Don’t wait until the last minute—upgrade to Windows 11 version 23H2 now.
